Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, Nov. 23. Whether you’re looking for a chef-made buffet or pre-made carryout meals — we’ve got the details you need. You can give thanks to us later.
🍽️ Dine-in
Not up for cooking? No problem. Many local restaurants will have special Thanksgiving Day menus and buffets like:
Matt the Miller’s Tavern — The buffet runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features pork and turkey carving stations, potatoes, casseroles, and dessert. Reservations are required and kids under four eat for free.
The Guild House — The restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The cost is $55 per diner, or $89 per person with wine pairings.
Mitchell’s Fish Market — The three-course dinner is $42 per diner and offers chowder or bisque starters, roasted turkey breast, and pumpkin pie.

Host without the stress of cooking with pre-made carryout meals at these spots:
101 Beer Kitchen — Order a Thanksgiving meal that feeds six for $235 by midnight on Saturday, Nov. 18.
Buca di Beppo — Pre-order an Italian Thanksgiving feast complete with pasta, lasagna, and chicken parmigiana.

Microsoft is growing its local footprint. The tech giant purchased 289 acres for $30.65 million on Refugee Road in Pataskala. It’s expected that they will use this land for data centers, similar to its Beech Road land purchased earlier this year. (The Columbus Dispatch)

The Columbus Zoo is hosting a sensory-friendly holiday light stroll on Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Expect smaller crowds, limited background noise, and sensory kits available. Admission is free for members and $16.99 for non-members.
Concert
Hozier, a Grammy-nominated singer with hits like “Take Me To Church,” is coming to the Schottenstein Center on August 7, 2024. Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 17 at 12 p.m.

Magic Escape Rooms, a Canton-based company, is opening soon at 35 E. Gay St. downtown. Each room is themed after magic, with some having local ties like the Howard Thurston room, a Columbus-born magician. (614now)

Homestead Cos., a local developer, is looking to build a 180-unit apartment complex at 6425 Pfeifer Ash Dr. Construction could begin next spring pending review from the Columbus Development Commission and approval from Columbus City Council. (Columbus Business First)
Holiday
Veterans Day (honored Sat., Nov. 11 + observed by public offices today) is a federal holiday commemorating people who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Expect various closures related to the holiday, and help honor our military personnel with events and ceremonies at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum downtown.

Nationwide Realty Investors — local developers who have invested $2 billion to the downtown district over the past 20 years — are behind the project. Construction is expected to begin soon, and the complex could be ready for tenants by 2025.
