The Columbus Commons has it all this season — including free screenings of family-friendly movies. They’ve also planned special days before screenings, so plan your trips accordingly. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome + popcorn is available while supplies last.

“The Secret Life of Pets” |Saturday, June 21 | Picnic with the Pops will take place before, so you’ll have to wait until it ends then you can find a seat.

“Coco” | Saturday, Sept. 7 | This is the final installment of the season.
Prepare for box office smash hits this summer at the park with this monthly screening hosted by the Short North Civic Association. All films are free to watch and begin around sunset. Lawn chairs and blankets are allowed, and screenings take place in the softball field in the southwest corner of the park.
This drive-in is now open and keeping nostalgia alive. It’s known for its two projector screens that play newly released movies in a double feature format. Check out the website to see what will be screened on the weekend, such as “Late Night with the Devil” or “Civil War.” Concession stands are available with soda, candy, and popcorn.

The Little Grand Market, a new food hall in Grandview, is expected to open in August 2024. The 22,500-sqft facility will house a total of 12 food vendors, including Bada Bean, and will continue announcing new vendors across the next few weeks. (Columbus Business First)

Construction on I-70 + I-71 in downtown has been extended to 2030, according to a release from ODOT over the weekend. With traffic still flowing through that corridor, ODOT officials said this has slowed down progress, which led to the extension. (The Columbus Dispatch)

“Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert” is coming to the Palace Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 24, featuring a two-hour show with a live orchestra. All of the familiar faces from the hit Nickelodeon series will be on stage, including Aang, Toph, and Zuko. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 19.

Express, a Columbus-based fashion retailer, will close 100 total stores across the US. It’s unclear how many of the 11 stores in Ohio will be closed, however any impacted stores will operate normally and accept gift cards until its closing date. (NBC4)

Get rid of any unwanted or unused electronics you may have at the Columbus Commons’ e-waste recycling day. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. where many old electronic — ranging from keyboards to charging cords — will be accepted.

In three months, a new Cameron Mitchell Restaurant will be serving upscale dishes on East Broad Street. But until then, it’s going to need some talented hands in the back and front of house.
Butcher & Rose, an upscale steakhouse from CMR, announced it will open sometime in July 2024. To meet that deadline, it has opened a new hiring office at 155 E. Broad St. It looks to hire bartenders, servers, hosts, line cooks, chefs, and all the other hard workers that go into making a successful restaurant.
For those interested in applying, stop by the office Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
For those interested in dining, you can expect 2,000+ in-house bottles of wine, a wide selection of steaks like Wagyu, and top-notch seafood such as shrimp or lobster.
